Women’s Shelter
for Urban Homeless

Myrtle, Chennai NGO has joined hands with Greater Chennai Corporation, in maintaining a Women Shelter for destitute women and children in their Urban Shelter home at Teynampet. Myrtle is protecting, supporting and empowering nearly 50 inmates who are neglected by their families. This shelter also serves as a Night Shelter for women who are abandoned by their kith and kin.

Myrtle takes initiative in providing food and clothing for their inmates and also takes a keen interest in integrating them back with their families if possible. This shelter for homeless women motivates and create opportunities for their inmates to engage themselves in some fruitful activities and employment.

Services & Amenities

Myrtle offers its full support to the under privileged women and empower them to manage their own livelihood and improve their quality of life. Myrtle, our NGO, creates social awareness in women and educate them to know their rights. It offers Counselling, create Self Help Groups, Health Services, Food Support to the elderly and Income Generation Programmes.
